Leader of BC Libertarian Party moves to file hate crime charges against Justin Trudeau

BC Libertarian leader Keith MacIntyre has moved to file hate crimes charges against Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. MacIntyre announced Tuesday that he has sent a letter to the Attorney General asking for “hate crimes” charges against the PM. The Attorney General has yet to respond.

Justin Trudeau is under fire after a viral clip showed him referring to unvaccinated people as “misogynists” and “racists.” Trudeau’s comments received significant backlash, earning the PM another column by Rex Murphy, where he stated, “it is never right for the leader of a country to launch a furious invective against an entire subset of citizens.”

The leader of British Columbia’s Libertarian Party, Keith MacIntyre, took it a step farther and decided to pursue hate crimes charges against Trudeau, announcing the move on Twitter. The tweet is question has just under 6,000 likes at the time of writing.

Serious: American here. In the u.s. hate crimes can only be committed against specific groups when a bias is part or wholly the motivation for the crime: races, sexual orientations, religions, etc.

Putting aside that saying something is very rarely considered a crime in the US unless it is instigating illegal activity…

Are unvaccinated people considered a protected class in France Canada?

    Are the laws different there?

Edit: I said France instead of Canada my brain farted for some reason.

Vaccination status is not protected in Canada. The BC Libertarian leader was making an ass of himself and demonstrating he doesn’t have a basic grasp of the laws in his own country. There was never any chance of hate crime or hate speech charges being filed for his comments because they are protected speech under the Canadian constitution.

Not all speech is protected, but speech that isn’t has to meet a pretty high standard before it can be considered criminal. Trudeau’s comments were idiotic and hypocritical, but it is not a crime to be either of those in this country. If it were, Trudeau and 2/3rds of the country would be doing life sentences already.

Thank you for standing up against the Prime Minister and his divisive hate speech. He needs to be held accountable and charged for his hate speech against fellow Canadians. How terrible to say we are ” racist, mesagenists and extremists that don’t support science” over OLD vaccine status. He keeps pushing these vaccine mandates as if they were God. Even the UK just came out January 7 saying “continuos boosters will destroy our immune systems” and our Prime Minister continues to push this crap into us and if we don’t bend he spreads hate speech and vilifies unvaccinated Canadians. Tell me how are we going to get better vaccines that actually last if we are all vaccinated and can’t do trials. Man that guy is short of a brain.
