Michael Lee Aday, known by his stage name Meatloaf, passed away Thursday evening. The rock star was known for hits such as Bat Out Of Hell. Meatloaf had a history of health problems, including asthma. The Daily Mail reported:
Meat Loaf had spoken openly about health issues that had plagued him, notably asthma, which caused him to collapse on stage during a concert in Pittsburgh in 2011, and in 2003 he collapsed at Wembley Arena in London and was admitted to hospital. He later held a press conference in Kensington to reassure fans about his health.
Fellow celebrity Piers Morgan weighed in, offering his condolences. He referred to Meatloaf as one of rock music’s “all-time great characters whose seminal iconic album Bat Out Of Hell is one of the biggest-selling records in history.” At this time, it is unclear how Meatloaf died.
