Canadian journalist Mark Slapinski, owner of Toronto 99, spoke to Tom Hardwood of GB News about the ongoing trucker protest happening in Ottawa and the recently declared “state of emergency.”
A large protest erupted in Ottawa, officially starting on Jan. 29. The protest is currently ongoing, despite requests from city officials, police, and federal politicians for it to be shut down.
While the protest was mostly peaceful, a fact acknowledged by media outlets such as Reuters and the New York Times, there have been attempts to paint all of the protesters as being “violent” or “racist.”
Ottawa Police recently started cracking down on the protest, and have been confiscating fuel belonging to truckers.
The mayor of Ottawa’s recent decision to lock the city down was met with condemnation.
