The People’s Convoy, which is the American version of the Canadian Freedom Convoy, made its way to Washington D.C. on Sunday to protest the remaining Covid restrictions in the country.
Inspired by their neighbours in Canada, Americans took their trucks on a drive across the country, making their way to the nation’s capital. The mission is to end all Covid restrictions. The group succeeded in slowing traffic as it circled the outskirts of the city. Some of the truckers, including the lead trucker, are willing to drive their trucks directly into the centre of the city.

Federal, state, and local authorities are working together to prepare for the possible arrival of the convoy, according to Reuters. The Department of Homeland Security is worried truckers could impede emergency vehicles.
