‘Freedom Convoy’ organizer Tamara Lich released from prison on condition she stay off social media and leave Ottawa

One of the lead organizers of the Canadian Freedom Convoy, Tamara Lich, has been freed from prison after a successful bail review, previously being held in prison by a Liberal-leaning judge. It is notable that a left-wing terrorist mowed down Freedom Convoy protesters in Winnipeg and was released on bail before Lich was. This has raised serious concerns about the administration of justice in Canada, with many describing the courts and Trudeau’s government as “authoritarian.”

Tamara Lich, the woman that organized the record-smashing fundraiser for the Ottawa Convoy, was freed from jail Monday. However, she is not completely off the hook, and has been ordered to immediately leave Ottawa. Lich is also prohibited from using social media, and has to immediately leave the city. She is forbidden from speaking to any of the convoy organizers while she is on bail. If she breaks any of her conditions, she will be returned to custody, and may have additional time added to her sentence.

Earlier this year, a left-wing “terrorist” slammed his car into protesters in Winnipeg. A man named David Alexander Zegarac, 42, was charged with a number of criminal offences, including four counts of assault with a weapon, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm. Rebel News described the man as a “radical far-left anarchist.” Zegarac was released on bail the day after being charged, despite the fact he is accused of serious, violent crimes. Meanwhile, Tamara Lich was held in jail from Feb. 17 until Mar. 7, despite the fact her allegations involve non-violent crimes.

The first judge that denied Lich bail was a former Liberal candidate, something the convoy organizer’s lawyers brought up in her bail review. Superior Court Justice John Johnston described Lich’s claim as a “very serious allegation.” While the news of Lich’s release has been well-received by her supporters, many Canadians are of the opinion that Justin Trudeau and his invocation of the Emergency Act was “authoritarian.” Trudeau has since ended the State of Emergency in Canada, but the Ottawa Police investigation continues.
