The Disney Corporation, currently under fire for protecting ‘pedophiles’ and supporting ‘grooming,’ is now accused of firing a straight, white woman for getting pregnant. And she’s not the first woman to have this problem.
Anya Shaw claimed in a video posted to TikTok last Wednesday that her employer Disney fired her for getting pregnant. Shaw claims she moved to Florida from Utah to be a part of the Disney College Program, and play the role of Tinkerbell.
In the video, Shaw claims that once she found out she was nine weeks pregnant, she was fired, only five weeks into her new role. This raises questions about Disney and its stance on straight women that pursue traditional relationships.
Disney is facing immense backlash after it publicly opposed Florida’s Don’t Say Gay bill, which forbids teaching young children about sexual orientation and gender identity.
In response to Disney’s opposition, conservative pundits snapped back. Candace Owens described the company as being run by “pedophiles” and “child groomers.” Fox News heavy-weight Tucker Carlson took it a step further and said:
“They have a sexual agenda for six-year-old children. You’d think that’s illegal in some way. It’s certainly immoral. It’s creepy as hell. And yet they are the country’s leading purveyor of children’s programming. That’s a problem, no?”
Shaw is not the only straight, female Disney employee that claims she was fired for getting pregnant. Another woman, Shadea Curry Bahar, claims she suffered “shock, embarrassment, physical distress and humiliation,” after she was fired in 2019 for the same reason.
Bahar is currently suing Disney for “wrongful termination” and “sex and disability discrimination.” Earlier this year, a request for dismissal was filed by Disney’s lawyers. However, a search of public records indicates the lawsuit is still active.
Last month, four Disney employees were arrested as part of a “massive” undercover operation targeting human traffickers, child predators, and prostitution. The operation was spearheaded by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.
This lead to speculation that Disney’s CEO Bob Chapek was also arrested, or at least aware of his employees’ behaviour. However, there is no evidence that Disney’s current CEO was involved in the ring, has participated in any sex crimes, or was aware some of his employees were pedophiles.
