Canadian icon Rex Murphy will be the keynote speaker at the George Jonas Freedom Awards in Toronto, where Freedom Convoy organizer will be given the “Freedom Award.”
The Board of Directors of the Justice Centre announced Tuesday it would handing the George Jonas Freedom Award to Tamara Lich for her “courage, determination and perseverance.” Lich was instrumental in organizing and fundraising for the Freedom Convoy.
For her role in the convoy, Lich was arrested and locked up for 18 days, something the Justice Centre calls “unjust.” She faces criminal charges including counselling to commit mischief, and could be sentenced to jail if convicted.
Lich is currently on bail, and is forbidden from re-entering Ontario. The Justice Centre acknowledges Lich’s bail restrictions, and states they are being appealed.
Rex Murphy is a columnist for the National Post, and his name frequently trends on Twitter. Liberals and the far-left don’t appreciate his opinions, to say the least.
Opinions on both Rex Murphy and Tamara Lich are mixed. Some people refer to them in a negative light, however, many refer to them as Canadian heroes.
