The leader of the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) is disgusted by the arrest of Freedom Convoy organizer Tamara Lich, saying her arrest is ‘political,’ and the government is ‘authoritarian.’
Tamara Lich is back in jail after police in Ottawa determined she breached her bail conditions. Maxime Bernier, head of the PPC, slammed the move, calling it “disgusting.”
Maxime Bernier believes Tamara Lich is a “political prisoner,” and that the Liberal regime is treating her like a dissident in an authoritarian state. Bernier states that he will “continue to support this courageous woman.”
Lich was taken into custody on Monday, leading to an outcry on social media. Her name is trending on Twitter at the time of writing this article.
Ottawa Police announced Tuesday she was arrested on a Canada-wide warrant, and will be returned to Ottawa. It’s unclear how much this will cost taxpayers.
Salman Sima, a freedom advocate and former Iranian political prisoner, states that he stands with Lich. He is asking the police to “free Tamara.”
