The infamous misogynist influencer has been arrested at his mansion in Romania by the country’s organized crime team.
Andrew Tate, known for advocating for violence against women, has been arrested with his brother in Eastern Europe in relation to a human trafficking investigation.
Tate, his brother, and two other suspects will be held for 30 days during an investigation, according to Ramona Bolla, a spokesperson for Romania’s organized crime squad.
His luxury mansion was raided by federal authorities on Thursday, as reported by Romanian media.
Videos posted on social media show Tate handcuffed and being lead away by police. Police officers were seen wearing face masks, presumably to conceal their identities.
Tate and the other suspects are accused of forcing women to make pornography.
The controversial social media influencer has a history of advocating for violence towards women, including hitting and choking them.
When describing how he’d deal with a woman if she accused him of cheating, Tate said:
“It’s bang out the machete, boom in her face and grip her by the neck. Shut up bitch.”
