Pierre Poilievre DEFENDS Jordan Peterson, slams cancel culture

The lead contender for the prime minister’s office is standing up for free speech in Canada.

Leader of the Conservative Party (CPC), Pierre Poilievre, has taken issue with the left’s attempts to silence Jordan Peterson, and cancel an upcoming event in Ottawa.

The outrage mob is demanding that Ottawa city council stand behind them as they try to shut down Peterson’s speaking engagement at the Canadian Tire Centre. The event is slated for Jan. 30.

Poilievre, a supporter of both Jordan Peterson and free speech, took to social media to defend the esteemed psychologist’s right to have an opinion.

The CPC leader pointed out how “some in Ottawa want to cancel Jordan Peterson’s event in the nation’s capital.”

He reminds people that if they don’t like him, they should simply not attend the event. Sort of like how non-sports fans can choose not to attend hockey games.

He points out that people that don’t agree with Peterson should debate him. But Poilievre draws the line at banning opinions the woke mob doesn’t approve of. This tactic of silencing opposing voices is quite common with leftists.

This is not the first time Pierre Poilievre has defended free speech in Canada. Poilievre has previously defended Jordan Peterson’s right to speak as he wishes.

The CPC leader has also been critical of the Liberal government’s attempts to censor speech on the internet.

Earlier this month, 100s of Torontonians gathered at the college of psychologists to defend Jordan Peterson. Toronto 99 provided exclusive reporting from the event.
