Mark Gerretsen caught smearing Pierre Poilievre again

A Liberal MP can’t help but spreading falsehoods about his political rivals.

Mark Gerretsen, Liberal MP for Kingston and the Islands, has stooped to spreading easily debunkable disinformation about CPC leader and prime minister hopeful Pierre Poilievre.

On Saturday, Gerretsen posted a image of a “deleted” tweet from Poilievre. However, the tweet in question was not deleted, and the image Gerretsen shared appears to be doctored.

Twitter added a note correcting Gerretsen, reminding users that his post was false. As of the time of writing Gerretsen has not deleted his defamatory tweet (archived here).

This is not the first time Gerretsen has spread lies about his political rivals.

Gerretsen deleted an inaccurate post in June, which claimed that Poilievre was connected to an imaginary “Canada Day Convoy.”

The account in question was run by an unnamed troll, and a convoy did not enter Ottawa for Canada Day.
