The popular TV host has “parted ways” with his former employer.
Tucker Carlson, the controversial opinion host at Fox News, is no longer employed by the company.
The announcement was made by Fox on Monday morning. It is unclear why the commentator and the network parted ways.
Fox News came under fire for the move, with Robby Starbuck describing the separation as the “biggest mistake” the network “ever made.”
Starbuck went on to write, “I don’t know the reason for the exit but the timing couldn’t be worse for Fox.”
Carlson made waves in Canada after jokingly stating that Justin Trudeau is the son of the late Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.
Trudeau is not the son of Castro, and this conspiracy theory has been thoroughly debunked.
