Influential conservatives are raising their voices as Trudeau’s Orwellian bill comes into law.
Right-wing blogger Spencer Fernando called out the passing of Bill C-11 as a “win for the Neo-Communists,” and a “loss for Canada” in a recent article.
The article begins:
“Make no mistake: we are watching a full assault on our rights and freedoms as Canadians, an assault led by a Prime Minister who is a big fan of Communist China’s ‘Basic Dictatorship.‘”
Fernando goes on to state that Trudeau and his side-kick Jagmeet Singh are less concerned with promoting Canadian content, and more concerned about controlling the population.
The blogger wasn’t alone in calling out the Liberal government for its perceived move towards to authoritarianism.
Bill C-11 critic Michael Geist slammed Trudeau for disrespecting content creators, gaslighting the public, and rejecting a popular Senate compromise.
Prime minister hopeful Pierre Poilievre took issue with the legislation, urging his followers to sign a petition to stop the bill.
Poilievre promises to repeal the bill if elected prime minister, referring to the legislation as a “censorship law.”
The Conservative Party is predicted to win the next election with a minority, according to recent polls.
