Right-wing influencers are taking Danielle Smith’s rival to task for her controversial views on school kids.
Alberta NDP leader Rachel Notley is under fire by conservatives for allegedly wanting to “groom” little kids.
The NDP candidate is vying for the top office in Alberta. However, she been accused by influential voices of wanting to lead young children down the wrong path.
Back in June 2022, Notley wrote on Twitter:
“Students should have a proper, modern curriculum, one that actually prepares them for their future.
One that teaches them about climate change, gender equality, poverty reduction, LGBTQ2S+ rights, anti-racism, and the history of residential schools.”

In response to the resurfaced statement, conservative social media influencers Viva Frei and the Pleb both accused the politician of wanting to “groom kids.” (Tweet archived here)
It is not clear how teaching children about any of these topics constitutes “grooming.”
Notley is competing with UCP leader Danielle Smith to be premier of Alberta, with an election set to be held May 29.
While the race is close, polls indicate that Smith holds a slight lead over her competitor.
