Calgary city councillors push back against Jyoti Gondek, file notice of motion to save Canada Day

10 city councillors are fighting back against the city’s woke mayor, battling to bring back festivities for the people.

A notice of motion has been filed by 10 city councillors in the City of Calgary to bring back Canada Day.

The motion demands that the city bring back its “aerial fireworks display,” provided it can be “achieved within existing budgets.”

This comes after the woke Jyoti Gondek and the City of Calgary decided to cancel Canada Day, prompting backlash from conservatives all over the country.

Woke city councillors have decried Canada Day celebrations as “racist,” while others cited “environmental concerns” as the reason for their cancellation.

As it stands, the city will not hosting its usual fireworks show, and private fireworks party organizers are subject to fines and imprisonment under the current laws.

Toronto reversed its decision to cancel Canada Day, after backlash from influential voices such as Chris Sky and Jordan Peterson.

The Vancouver Port Authority announced it was permanently ending its fireworks show. It went as far to drop the name Canada Day altogether, opting for the more woke “Canada Together.”
