This is not the first time Big Pharma has been taken to court over its products, and it certainly won’t be the last.
Pfizer and Moderna are being taken to court again, facing fresh legal complaints in regards to their Covid vaccines.
Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, a biotech company headquartered in Massachusetts, is suing the vaccine developers in a Delaware court.
Alnylam is suing Pfizer and Moderna, in separate lawsuits, alleging patent infringement in lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology.
The lawsuits are seeking to get royalties from both companies’ vaccine sales. The exact dollar amount is unspecified.
Pfizer made $37.8 billion from its Covid vaccine last year, while Moderna made $18.4 billion, as reported by Reuters.
Critics have called out Big Pharma for vaccine injuries, including death, which some fear is being underreported by the media.
Covid vaccines are considered safe and effective by health authorities across the world, including Health Canada.
However, there are credible reports of death in relation to the Covid vaccine. In New Zealand, at least four deaths have been linked to Pfizer’s Covid vaccine.
Critics surmise the actual number of deaths related to the Pfizer vaccine is much higher than the media is reporting, but evidence for these claims is lacking.
