The Premier of Alberta has lived up to her campaign promise of giving freedom to the people.
Alberta Health Services (AHS), under the direction of Premier Danielle Smith, has decided to drop mask mandates, effective Jun. 19.
Health authorities in the province cite the declining number of Covid cases as one reason for the change in policy.
The decision was not made in a vacuum. AHS stated to local media that it consulted with the appropriate stakeholders before going forward with the move.
The change was welcomed by Smith’s constituents in the province, with many conservatives wondering when premiers in other provinces will follow suit.
