RCMP halts investigation into Justin Trudeau for obstruction of justice

Canadians are accusing the RCMP of covering for the prime minister after it announced it will not be investigating him for crimes committed during the SNC-Lavalin scandal.

The RCMP has halted its criminal investigation after widespread media reports that the prime minister was under investigation for obstruction of justice.

Bryan Passifiume, a journalist employed by the National Post, announced Monday that “RCMP have reportedly opened an investigation into allegations of prosecutorial obstruction in connection with the SNC-Lavalin affair.”

Later in the day, the RCMP pushed back, stating it was not conducting a criminal investigation into Trudeau. This has lead to speculation that a cover-up is taking place, and the RCMP is protecting Trudeau.
