A Toronto comedian took the newly elected Toronto mayor to task for her ex-husband’s questionable past.
Ben Bankas, comedian and mayoral candidate in the recent Toronto election, took aim at Toronto’s new mayor.
In a video posted to Twitter, Bankas verbally destroyed Chow for being married to a man caught by police with an alleged prostitute.
“[Chow’s] ex-husband Jack Layton, he fucking got caught in a rub-and-tug… that’s fucked up,” the comedian joked in the video.
Bankas then goes on to refer to Layton as a “piece of shit.” Interestingly, Chow stayed married to Layton after the incident came to light in 2011.
Toronto 99 previously reported on Layton’s sex scandal. Despite Chow’s alleged connections to groups affiliated with Communist China, and her history of living in government housing, she won the recent mayoral race.
In response to Toronto 99‘s accurate reporting on Chow, the publication was unfairly accused of “red-tagging” by Centennial College’s student newspaper Toronto Observer.
York University professor Dr. Vivian Stamatopoulos shared the article by the Observer, suggesting that people that question the recent election results or disagree with Chow’s leadership style make her “sick.”
