Left-wing Dutch prime minister resigns

Liberal governments across Europe continue to fall as conservatives earn enormous wins.

Mark Rutte has resigned as the leader of Holland, in a win for conservatives in Europe. This comes after a disagreement with his coalition government on migration policy, as was reported by WION.

Rutte was the first liberal to become the prime minister of Holland since Pieter Cort van der Linden in 1918.

The resignation of Rutte will lead to fresh elections in the Netherlands later in the year. Conservatives have seen massive gains across the continent, with right-leaning Giorgia Meloni becoming the first female prime minister of Italy in 2022.

Last month, the nationalist conservative Spartan party won parliamentary representation in Greece after the recent federal election.

Former Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper is currently under fire by left-biased media outlets in Canada for trying to forge stronger ties with some of these governments.

Harper recently met with the prime minister of Hungary, as well as with Meloni in Italy.
