The Liberal government has blood on its hands as violent criminals continue to be freed on bail.
A repeat, violent offender was out on bail at the time he was accused of murdering another man in the Kensington Market area of Toronto, according to local media.
Carlos Swaby-Palacios is accused of killing Nigerian immigrant Oluwatobi “Tobi” Alaga while he was out on bail for serious charges, including kidnapping.
This is not an isolated incident, according to a veteran homicide investigator. “Most of these guys are [out on bail]. Go through the list of the dead and you’re going to find a lot of people arrested for these murders who were out on bail.”
Despite calls from conservatives to deny bail to repeat, violent offenders, the Trudeau government has continuously shrugged its collective shoulders.
The Liberals refuse to legislate proper bail reform that would keep violent criminals such as Swaby-Palacios behind bars.
Pierre Poilievre, leader of the Conservative Party (CPC), has vowed to make it harder for such criminals to get bail if elected prime minister.
“When you keep repeat violent offenders in jail, you get less violent crime. It’s common sense that will bring home safe streets,” the CPC leader has previously stated on X (Twitter).
