Trudeau’s broadcaster is accused of whitewashing the terrorist atrocities committed by Hamas.
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is under fire after one of its employees was caught directing journalists not to refer to Hamas as “terrorists.”
As a result, a number of conservative voices including one MP, are calling out the CBC. A Toronto-based doctor is even calling for the broadcaster’s defunding.
An e-mail, leaked late Saturday night, shows CBC’s Director of Journalistic Standards urging his subordinates to whitewash the recent terrorist attack in Israel. The leak was included in a report by Honest Reporting Canada.
“Do not refer to militants, soldiers, or anyone else as ‘terrorists.’ The notion of terrorism remains heavily politicized and is part of the story,” wrote CBC employee George Achi.
As a result, Conservative MP for the riding of St. Albert-Edmonton, blasted Trudeau’s broadcaster. Michael Cooper referred to the move by Achi as “blatantly anti-Semitic.”
Toronto-based radiologist David Jacobs shared similar frustrations with the CBC, calling for its defunding.
“If the CBC can’t call people who murder the elderly, kidnap women and children, kill children, and rape young women terrorists, then I don’t think they’re worth funding,” wrote Dr. Jacobs on X (Twitter).
Honest Reporting Canada is a grass-roots organization that fights against anti-Israel bias in the Canadian media. The organization has previously called out CBC for promoting anti-Israel narratives.
Some radicals on the far-left have gone as far as showing support for terrorist organization Hamas. This includes the president of public sector union CUPE Ontario and a social work professor at Wilfrid Laurier University.
The Canadian Democracy Coalition has launched a petition demanding CUPE Ontario’s president Fred Hahn resign.
