Pierre Poilievre continues calls to defund the CBC

Fewer Canadians are watching Trudeau’s broadcaster, but its CEO continues to rake in a significant salary.

Conservative Party (CPC) leader Pierre Poilievre continues to call for the defunding of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), as Conservative MPs slam its CEO Catherine Tait for refusing to rule out bonuses for herself and for company executives.

The CBC is struggling financially, despite being mostly funded by taxpayer money given generously by the Liberal government. On top of this, Tait has refused to rule out a bonus for herself.

I think that she should be shown the door, claimed the leader of Bloc Québécois, Yves-François Blanchet. Poilievre attached a clip on X (Twitter) from Tait’s testimony in the House of Commons, directing people to a CPC petition.

CBC has long been under fire by conservatives for having a perceived pro-liberal, anti-conservative bias. The CPC claims that the CBC’s existence is hurtful to a “free and competitive press.”

Toronto 99 has previously reported on failed fact-checks from the CBC, notable several false stories published about the Freedom Convoy in 2022.

CBC is crap. They are preachy left wing idiots. They like to throw around the “cultural appropriation” BS of the Libtards but then make things like “Kim’s Convenience”. Hypocrites is the norm for Leftards.
