The Conservative Party leader has taken a firm stance on men (and women) with bad intentions.
Pierre Poilievre declared that biological men have no place in women’s washrooms and should not be competing against biological women in sports.
“Female spaces should be exclusively for females, not for biological males,” Poilievre told reporters at a news conference Wednesday, as was reported by the Canadian Press.
The move angered many leftists and earned backlash from the mainstream media, with one trans-rights activist saying Poilievre’s position “threatens the rights of transgender people.”
“This will force trans people out of public life. I can’t use women’s washrooms and I’m not safe using men’s washrooms,” says Fae Johnstone of the Society of Queer Momentum.
However, supporters of Poilievre applauded the move on social media. “We deserve to have washrooms, change rooms with biological women! And to feel safe in those spaces,” wrote women’s rights advocate Brett on X (Twitter).
This comes as Alberta premier Danielle Smith moves to restrict gender surgery for youth in her province. The left-wing media was quick to demonize her stance, as was reported by Toronto 99.
