The Liberals’ token black man is facing calls for resignation after censoring the opposition.
Greg Fergus, Liberal MP for the Quebec riding of Hull—Aylmer, is facing calls for his resignation after he censored opposition leader Pierre Poilievre for calling the prime minister a “wacko.”
On Tuesday, Poilievre called Justin Trudeau a series of names including “whacko,” “extremist,” and “radical.” After which, he was ejected from Parliament by house speaker Fergus.
The rest of the Conservative MPs left with Poilievre. The opposition leader’s comments were in reference to the Trudeau government’s refusal to reverse course on drug decriminalization in British Columbia (BC).
The premier of BC previously called on the Trudeau government to re-instate the federal ban on public drug use in the province, as was reported by Toronto 99.
