“We have serious concerns about [vaccines] for children.”
The United Conservative Party (UCP) is urging Alberta premier Danielle Smith to reconsider mandatory vaccination policies for children.
Rob Smith, president of the UCP, is leading the charge to have Smith reconsider the province’s vaccine policy, citing “serious concerns.”
“I would say that the board of directors’ position is that if parents are going to get their children vaccinated, they need to be very, very sure that they know what they’re doing.”
Smith is looking to “persuade the UCP Alberta caucus to declare the moratorium on all COVID mRNA vaccines” for children in the province, as was reported by local media.
This comes as the pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca announced it would be pulling its Covid-19 vaccines from the shelves, as reports of deaths and legal pressures continue to mount.
Critics of the Covid-19 vaccine worry that it could be linked to an increased number of deaths and serious injuries to minors.
However, Alberta Health still maintains that Covid-19 vaccines, including those that use MRNA technology, are “safe, effective and save lives,” as is indicated on its website.
While Covid-19 vaccines can lead to serious injury and death in rare cases, even in minors, the consensus in the scientific community is that the benefits outweigh the negatives and they are still safe for public consumption.
