News of Ebrahim Raisi’s death was met with praise by some politicians in Canada.
Conservative MPP Goldie Ghamari is celebrating news reports of Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi’s death on X (Twitter) Sunday afternoon (archived here).
Goldie is an MPP for the Ottawa riding of Carleton, and an outspoken critic of the Iranian regime.
“Raisi is dead! The Butcher of Tehran had the blood of thousands of innocent Iranian people on his disgusting hands. Today is an amazing day for Iranians. Long live the freedom loving people of Iran. Congrats on the death of this Islamofascist Nazi terrorist.”
Politicians in the United States made similar comments about Raisi’s death, including Republican Congressman Mike Waltz.
“Good riddance. Raisi was a murderous human rights abuser before and during his Presidency,” Waltz wrote on social media Sunday.
At the time of Goldie’s post on Sunday, the reports were still speculative and unconfirmed. However, Raisi’s death was officially confirmed by Iranian officials later Sunday night.
“It was so obvious given the state of TV coming from inside the terrorist Islamic Regime in Iran,” wrote Goldie on X Sunday evening.
