NOT SORRY: Poilievre refuses to apologize to Trump assassin

The future prime minister is not walking back his comments, despite left-wing pushback.

Conservative Party (CPC) leader Pierre Poilievre has refused to apologize for statements he made in the aftermath of the attack on ex-president Donald Trump’s life.

I condemn in the strongest of terms the attempted murder of former President Trump today. I am relieved he is safe. I am also happy that the suspected shooter is dead,” wrote Poilievre on X Saturday night.

His comments were met with praise from his supporters, but were heavily criticized by the left. Many people used social media to demand an apology, for which Poilievre offered none.

Instead of bowing to the woke mob, Poilievre chose to stand firm and defend his comments during a radio interview with Alex Pierson.

[The shooter] killed another human being. I don’t care what you think about … former President Trump. The reality is he’s a human being and so was the other innocent victim who died here heroically protecting his loved ones.” Poilievre said.

The CPC leader continues to hold a double-digit lead over Justin Trudeau‘s increasingly unpopular Liberal Party, and is projected to win the next federal election in 2025, as was reported by Toronto 99.
