The B.C NDP is literally trying to buy votes amid falling poll numbers.
David Eby, head of the British Columbia New Democratic Party (B.C NDP), is frantically trying to win back voters as the B.C Conservative Party pulls ahead in the polls.
Eby is promising “middle class” residents an $1,000 tax cut, in a move that has been ridiculed by critics.
Recent polling by Mainstreet Research suggests that the B.C Conservatives are leading the B.C NDP by 4 points, with the former polling at 46%.
National Post columnist Adam Zivo slammed the B.C premier in an X (Twitter) post. He pointed to the contradictory messaging in Eby’s press release, which states that the tax cut is immediate, but won’t take effect until next year.
B.C Conservative leader John Rustad promised even deeper tax cuts. However, his plan won’t take effect immediately.
