Toronto beer company caters to the woke mob, loses support from Conservatives

Toronto-based brewery Steam Whistle has lost customers on both sides of the political spectrum after hosting a Conservative political rally, then immediately trying to distance itself from the event it hosted.

The far-left woke mob strikes again, this time targeting a local Toronto brewery. Pierre Poilievre, an MP and contender for the head of the Conservative Party (CPC), held an event on the brewery’s property on Tuesday.

Due to pressure from the far-left mob, the brewery released a statement saying it does not “endorse” Poilievre’s views. The statement was met with backlash from Conservatives.

Brian Lilley, a popular columnist with the Toronto Sun, slammed the brewery, stating, “this looks like Steam Whistle running as far away as they can from allowing their space to be rented by a Conservative politician. I’ve never seen this sort of letter for Liberal or NDP events.

People on both sides of the spectrum are ditching Steam Whistle; Liberals for hosting the event, and Conservatives for trying to distance themselves from the event. The company has successfully managed to alienate both sides in one fell swoop.

The letter from Steam Whistle appears to be in response to a coordinated disinformation campaign. Anonymous users on Twitter, and other social media, inaccurately described the event as a “hate rally.”

Toronto 99 was on scene for Tuesday’s events. Not only was it attended by a diverse group of people, including many South Asians and African-Canadians, but Pierre Poilievre was not there to preach hate.

Poilievre’s policies are focused on reducing government spending, and giving individuals more autonomy. Nowhere on Poilievre’s website does he mention anything that could be described as “hateful.”

This is just the latest example of a company making bad decisions based on disinformation spread by far-left activists with sinister agendas.

They have a space available for rentals but are expected to endorse the views of everyone who rents it? How does that work?
