First it was Donald Trump, now it is Danielle Smith. You could be the next victim of censorship.
The woman that holds the highest office in the Canadian province of Alberta had her tongue ripped out by Mark Zuckerberg’s social media platform.
Premier Danielle Smith announced on Twitter Wednesday that she had been “banned from posting content,” on Facebook.
“Big tech and government censorship is becoming a danger to free speech around the world. My Facebook account has been banned from posting content for a ‘few days.’
As the Premier of a province of 4.6 million Albertans – if they can prevent me from communicating with you, imagine what they can do to any one of us.
Regardless of our political leanings, we must all stand against censorship.”
It is unclear what Smith posted that triggered the ban. However, this is not the first time Facebook censored a conservative politician.
In 2021 Donald Trump lost access to his Twitter account after the events that unfolded on Jan. 6. He went on to found his own social network, Truth Social.
