Violence on Toronto’s transit system is at an all time high, with near-daily reports of crime on the TTC.
Police are searching for three suspects after a subway operator was threatened with a knife. One suspect is already in custody.
This comes as Toronto sees record breaking crime on the transit system (TTC).
Many of the city’s residents feel unsafe using the transit system, including women.
This comes just days after a woman was arrested for assault after “multiple incidents at TTC stations across the city,” as was reported by the Toronto Sun.
Olivia Chow, a far-left politician and alleged Chinese asset, was recently elected as Toronto’s mayor.
While she has not officially been sworn in as mayor, many fear her soft-on-crime approach was lead to further issues on the city’s transit system.
Mayoral candidate Mark Saunders warned voters that Chow will defund the police, leading to less available resources to deal with violent criminals.
“Olivia Chow continues to say that the TTC is safe. She couldn’t be more wrong. She has to say it because she’s going to defund the police,” writes a statement on former police chief Saunder’s campaign website.
