The Canadian prime minister may call an early election, according to reports.
After a cabinet shuffle that saw two Liberal MPs announce they will refuse to seek re-election, some have speculated that Justin Trudeau is prepared to call another election.
“Rumours are circulating that Justin Trudeau is getting ready to call an election,” wrote independent journalist and YouTuber The Pleb on Twitter Monday evening.
“Good luck beating Pierre Poilievre. He’s jacked, has perfect hair, and most importantly he’s very intelligent,” the Pleb added. Conservative party leader Pierre Poilievre has won accolades after changing his appearance.
This comes as the Canadian prime minister faces a drop in the polls, with Poilievre and his Conservative Party leading.
The Liberal Party has yet to make a formal announcement on the matter, and it’s possible that reports of an early election are nothing more than baseless speculation.
