Trudeau’s proposed immigration quotas are widely despised by Canadians, according to recent polls.
The Liberal government’s plans to increase the annual target of immigrants will negatively affect the cost of housing, according to an overwhelming majority of Canadians.
Recent polling by Nanos Research indicates that 68% of Canadians believe that Trudeau’s plans to increase immigration quotas will increase the cost of housing.
The government is planning on increasing the annual target of immigrants from 465,000 a year to 500,000. This plan has been slammed by critics as being irresponsible.
Even the mainstream media has begun reporting on the negative effects of over-immigration. Tony Keller, a columnist with the Globe and Mail, slammed Trudeau’s immigrant-lust in a recent column.
“One of the negative consequences [of too much immigration] is that the national housing squeeze has been made worse, with a big jump in postpandemic arrivals pushing high prices higher and low vacancy rates lower.”
“It’s not political. It’s just arithmetic,” Keller fairly pointed out.
