The premier of Ontario had some harsh words for the president of CUPE Ontario regarding his support of Hamas.
Doug Ford, the premier of Ontario, slammed CUPE Ontario president Fred Hahn over his support of Hamas in the Ontario legislature on Thursday.
“[Fred Hahn] supports Hamas, he’s disgusting,” Ford was quoted as saying by journalist Colin D’Mello. This comes after the public sector union boss showed support for Palestinian “resistance.”
Hahn’s comments have lead to widespread calls for his resignation from conservatives, Jewish people, and Israel advocates across the country.
A petition was started by the Canadian Democracy Coalition before it was censored by its host Change.org. Visitors to the petition are now met with red prompts that state that the page is “under review.”
“This petition is not accessible at the moment. It may be under review by moderators who enforce our Community Guidelines.
This petition may become available again once the review process is complete. We appreciate your patience.”
Hahn previously came under fire by concerned parents after he encouraged members of his union to obstruct protests against “grooming” in public schools.
