The infamous grand-daughter of a Nazi propagandist may soon be replaced.
Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau may be in the process of replacing his infamous Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, as was reported by the Toronto Star.
Freeland does not have an educational background in finance or economics, and she worked as a journalist before entering politics.
Her previous gigs involved writing a biography of left-wing financier George Soros, as was indicated on her profile on the blog Foreign Policy.
It is unclear if she ever finished that book, and a Google search for a biography of Soros written by Freeland fails to produce any results.
Her grand-father wrote propaganda articles for the Nazis while stationed in Ukraine during World War Two, as was reported by Toronto 99.
Freeland initially dismissed the accusations as “Russian propaganda,” however she has since walked back on this claim.
Conservative Party (CPC) leader Pierre Poilievre believes that the prime minister is actively working to remove Freeland, as he stated to his X (Twitter) followers.
“Trudeau [is] secretly working to dump incompetent Finance Minister Freeland after her disastrous budget and bring in Carbon Tax Carney,” wrote Poilievre on Friday, citing the recent Star article.
Trudeau has yet to make a formal announcement on Freeland’s replacement, however, political insiders believe it is only a matter of time.
It is important to note that Carney is not an elected official, and will have to win an election before replacing Freeland.
Carney is currently employed by the United Nations (UN) as the Special Envoy on Climate Action and Finance, and has held that position since 2020, according to his LinkedIn profile.
