Amid falling poll numbers, the Canadian left is getting desperate.

Conservative Party (CPC) leader Pierre Poilievre slammed the New Democratic Party (NDP) for spreading “baseless conspiracy theories” about the use of bot accounts to promote a recent rally in Northern Ontario.

After hundreds of fake social media accounts were caught repeating a message about enjoying a Poilievre rally in Kirkland, Ontario, the opposition has blamed the Conservative Party, despite a lack of evidence.

Poilievre and the CPC have denied using fake social media accounts to boost engagement, stating that him and his party are focused on real Canadians.

The CPC does not pay for bots and has no idea who is behind these accounts. We are seeking the support of actual Canadians, as witnessed by large in-person turnouts at our events,” Poilievre’s communications director told the media.

In an effort to troll the liberals that are having a meltdown over the barrage of suspicious, low-quality accounts, many have posted the same message. This includes YouTuber and right-wing provocateur “The Pleb.”
