The Albertan premier is defending people’s right to choose.
Albertan premier Danielle Smith plans to ban mandatory vaccination in the province as she seeks to make changes to the Alberta Bill of Rights.
“It is my firm conviction that no Albertan should ever be subjected (to) or pressured into accepting a medical treatment without their full consent,” Smith said in a video posted to X (Twitter).
This continues Smith’s longstanding mission to oppose policies set by the Liberal government in Ottawa that go against the interests and wishes of the Albertan people.
The Justin Trudeau government received fierce backlash for federally mandating Covid-19 vaccines, a move that directly lead to the 2022 Freedom Convoy, and one that still elecits resentment to this day.
Likewise, prime minister hopeful Pierre Poilievre has stated that will ban mandatory vaccinations at the federal level once elected in 2025.
Poilievre continues to be Canadians’ top choice for prime minister, and has dominated the polls since being elected the leader of the Conservative Party.
Provincial Conservative parties continue to rise in popularity, partially due to their pro-choice stance in regards to vaccination, as was recently reported by Toronto 99.
