As the Ghislaine Maxwell trial begins in New York City, prosecutors are arguing that Maxwell worked with Jeffrey Epstein to target girls for sexual abuse. Monday, the prosecution stated the duo specifically targeted young, vulnerable girls with single mothers and financial hardship.
On Monday, assistant district attorney Lara Pomerantz argued in a Manhattan courtroom that Maxwell “preyed on vulnerable young girls, manipulated them, and served them up to be sexually abused.” Mairead Elordi, an investigative journalist for the Daily Wire reported that the prosecutor is alleging Maxwell and Epstein targeted “vulnerable girls with single mothers, financial hardship.”
Maxwell is facing eight charges, to which she has plead not guilty. She faces up to 80 years in prison for allegations of sex trafficking and other crimes. According to the BBC:
In the coming days, four alleged victims are expected to testify. The prosecution also plans to get some of Jeffrey Epstein’s staff to testify, along with presenting evidence from flight logs of his private plane and Fedex records of gifts sent to the alleged victims.
