The price of certain goods will increase in Canada due to the prime minister’s tough stance on vaccination, warns experts in the trucking industry. A supply crisis looms as unvaccinated truckers will be banned from Canada next Saturday if they cannot provide proof of vaccination, despite immense pressure from critics.

Starting Dec. 15, Trudeau’s government will demand all truckers entering Canada from the United States to show documentation to prove their positive vaccine status. The government claims it is doing this only as part of its fight against COVID-19. The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) estimates this will push 10% of cross-border truckers off the road.

“We’re going to see prices skyrocket for groceries, for everything, if we see tens of thousands of truckers unemployed.”

Erin O’Toole, Conservative Party

Online, people were visibly frustrated with the news. One critic, Craig Bell, claimed the situation was “ridiculous” given current supply chain issues.
